Dourthe created Beau Mayne in 1979, a round, nicely-balanced Bordeaux with the emphasis on lovely ripe fruit. Beau Mayne is the result of an increasingly strict selection process conducted by oenologists who all have perfect knowledge of the Bordeaux terroirs.
Beau Mayne is the result of careful selection of the finest Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon coming from the very best parcels of land, harvested at optimum ripeness and skillfully blended to maximise the fruit character. Beau Mayne is medium-bodied with flavours of ripe summer fruits and smooth, mellow tannins.
Varietal Composition: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon
Traditional vinification. Maturation for a few months in vats.
Tasting notes: With its lovely deep red colour, the wine boasts a bouquet of red fruit aromas. On the palate, it is rounded, revealing good structure and silky, elegant tannins. It offers a nice fruity finish.
