Château Potensac is located in the Médoc region of Bordeaux and takes its name from the Potensac plateau on which it is situated, in the Ordonnac region of the Médoc. It is owned by Jean-Hubert Delon, who is the second generation of the estate. The Delon family owns two other Châteaux in Bordeaux, Château Nénin in Pomerol and the famous Château Leoville-Las Cases - second growth in the 1855 classification of the Médoc and Graves regions.
Château Potensac is often considered to represent the "pure Medoc style", and it should be noted that it was one of the nine producers awarded the "Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel" designation in the 2003 reclassification!
The only two labels produced at Château Potensac are red wines from the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot varieties. The vineyards have calcareous subsoil with clay and a high concentration of gravel. The average age of the vines is 38 years, and some of them are 80 years old.
Château Potensac 2019:
After a winter with high levels of rainfall, spring was cool followed by a warm summer. A complicated vintage, where the attention had to be permanent in order to harvest splendid Merlot and Cabernets of great nobility.

Dark ruby red with violet reflections. Black berries, cherries, tobacco and oak notes on the nose. Medium body, fresh and lively, ripe, very well integrated tannins and a long finish.
Aging potential for 15 years or more.
Varietal Composition 2019:
Merlot 47%
Cabernet Sauvignon 36%
Cabernet Franc 16%
Petit Verdot 1%.
