Vineyard: From the heart of the oldest parcels of the estate in the Schoenenbourg, a terroir historically dedicated to Riesling. Grapes are brought in at the very end of the harvest.
Vinification: After a few hours of settling, the must is transferred to vats where the fermentation will take place with temperature control (18 to 24°C). A single racking before winter where the wine clarifies naturally. A light filtration before bottling in the spring and then ageing in cellars.
Tasting Notes: 2010, an exceptional vintage in Alsace. The color is silky, intense, straw yellow, with some pistachio green reflections. The richness of the remaining natural sugar from the overripe and botrytized grapes is clearly visible. The bouquet is fresh and lively, aromatic and fruity, highlighting the unique Riesling grape variety. Fresh lemon, lemon balm, citron, lemongrass, pink grapefruit, rhubarb, peach, mirabelle plum, ginger, flower honey. In addition a touch of subtle minerality. A soft wine with a joyful sweetness in harmony with the beautiful acidity, which is the signature of Riesling, which while being soft and velvety leaves a sensation of vivacity that makes you want to savor it. The end of the mouth is an aromatic concentrate of great finesse.
Paired with: Recommended as an accompaniment for fruit tarts, rhubarb, red-current, pineapple, almond, or with foie-gras either as a terrine or pan-fried with apples. Lemon pie Fresh fruit salad or simply on its own amongst friends who love fine and rare wines with their own sense of finery and refinement.
