Valdespino Solera 1842 is a V.O.S. wine – it’s over 20 years of age, and more importantly: the wine spends almost half of its time as a blend. This makes the end result much more integrated and ‘naturally sweet’ than when the blend is brought together right before bottling.
Grape Variety: 100 % Palomino Fino. With a delicate of Pedro Ximenez. Type of ageing: Oxidative. Average Age: V.O.S. (Very Old Sherry) Over 20 years. Alcohol: 21 % vol.
Tasting notes: Colour: Intense mahogany with dark brown trim. Nose: Nutty, dates and raisin aromas, with liquorice background. Palate: Smooth, full bodied with a long aftertaste showing the Oloroso intensity.
Enjoy: It is a superb aperitif and can accompany pates, foie-grass and blue creamy cheeses (Stilton and Gorgonzola).
