Let's start at the beginning. But the beginning isn't at the distillery on Speyside where you might expect. The Tamdhu story starts under the warming Spanish sun. In 1898 our founders secured their first precious shipment of sherry casks from the finest bodegas in Spain. Now over 100 years later, Tamdhu matures its whisky exclusively in the finest Oloroso sherry casks. Although the casks are exceptionally rare and expensive, we wouldn't change our methods, as we think it's the only way to create the very best single malt whisky.

Nose: Sherry barrel with nuttiness, raisins and dark chocolate. In addition to the tangible sweetness,  cinnamon swirls, toasted oak and bitter oranges along with some mint chocolate.

Palate: Lots of plum, ripe sweet cherries, juicy raisin, fried banana, raspberry jam  and oak spice.  In addition, caramel, dried fruit notes, chocolate.

Finish: Chocolate fudge and just a whisper of smoke, with sweet cinnamon returning.
