Product description

Edicion Limitada A Carmenere Malbec , as its name suggests, is produced in an extremely limited number of bottles. It is part of Caliterra's Limited Edition trilogy, with the grapes (69% Malbec -31% Carmenere) strictly selected from the winery's best vineyards and perfectly expressing the history of the terroir of the Colchagua Valley.

Vineyard: Viña Caliterra is located in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, in a protected valley, 150 metres above sea level. The Caliterra vineyard consists of 1,000 hectares, 75% of which is still intact. The wide variety of soils, altitudes and the exposure of the vineyard to the sun make this terroir a unique place for the production of elegant, structured and balanced wines.

Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation was carried out with indigenous yeasts, 71% in stainless steel tanks and 29% in oak barrels. This was followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing for 18 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red with blue highlights. Elegant on the nose with fruity (blackberries) and mineral (graphite) aromas at first that slowly evolve to reveal notes of violet, tangerine, tarragon and rosemary. Finally, notes of roasted tomato and black pepper give way to a palette characterised by fruity flavours and textures. Smooth and with fine tannins, this wine still shows a considerable structure and crispness that promise to surprise us for many years to come.

Critics' Score:  Decanter 93 / Descorchados 92

Paired With: Roast pork, BBQ, red meat in the oven, sausages
