Vineyard: The Magill Estate Shiraz vineyard on the outskirts of Adelaide is linked to the very begginig of Penfolds.
Vinification: Red vinification with 18 months of ageing in new French (26%) and American (6%) oak barrels, the rest of the barrels are of past use.
Tasting notes: Deep red with purple highlights. The nose is very attractive with berries dominating the aromatic bouquet and vanilla and chocolate notes making their presence felt. On the palate it is round, with a particularly soft texture while delicate fruit dominates and elegant tannins create the perfect balance, in a very full-bodied result. An excellent wine that is pleasant to drink now and can be cellared for several years.
Pairs with: Grilled beef and aged hard cheeses
Enjoy at: 16°C - 18°C
Ageing: until 2039
